Error Code: 0x80072f76 0x20017. Windows media creation tool.

I've disabled the defender and other software for malware and virus protection and tried moving the executable to desktop and then launching it. I don't have an idea whats wrong with it! Any help is much appreciated.

I was able to solve it on a 2016 Lenovo laptop by disabling antivirus until next reboot and pointing my DNSs to Google Ones.

Hope this helps someone else as well.

    Workaround until issue fixed!!!

    Use edge and go into developer mode - F12

    Select Emulation tab and in device section choose a phone.

    Paste or type link below:-

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO/

    Note: Need to emulate phone otherwise you will be redirected to creation tool.

    This will give you an ISO image - better than nothing!!

    Change your network properties to use goolgle DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). It worked for me.

    I also changed IPv6 DNS servers to the google ones, but I think changing jsut the IPv4 ones solves this issue.

    any chance of giving us back the old media creation tool? they worked like a charm.  I have the same error after downloading it and running it.
