After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit. The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.
I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.
I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.
I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.
The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

I have problems with the Microsoft Designer mouse, too. Frequently lagging, jerky movement - almost like moving through molasses. The mouse also intermittently (maybe once a day) drops offline completely, requiring me to power-cycle the mouse to get it back online.
Per your instructions, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard drivers. However, the problem persists after reinstalling the drivers.

If you're still experiencing the Bluetooth keyboard issue even after re-installing the keyboard's driver, there is a possibility that we may need to update the version of the Bluetooth driver. This the reason why we also want you and other community members to use another Bluetooth keyboard for us to isolate if the issue is with the specific Bluetooth keyboard or with every Bluetooth keyboard. If you do not have a spare or extra Bluetooth keyboard, we recommend updating the driver of your computer's Bluetooth to resolve the issue.
Kindly tell us if you can use your keyboard normally after updating the Bluetooth driver.
If that is the case, it is possible that there may be a problem with the keyboard's driver. This can be be the reason why you're encountering missing keystrokes when using the Bluetooth keyboard. We recommend that you uninstall and re-install the driver to resolve the issue. Kindly access this article to know how to uninstall and re-install the driver. Since the keyboard that you're using is a Plug and Play device (Devices that will automatically install its driver when connected to the computer), please follow the steps under Uninstall a device and Reinstall a Plug and Play device. Please be careful in uninstalling the driver of the keyboard. Make sure that you're uninstalling the driver of the Bluetooth keyboard and not the built-in keyboard.

I uninstalled the Designer Keyboard—twice—and it did not resolve the issue. I followed the instructions from "Uninstall and Reinstall a Device" and was not prompted to remove the driver, so I attempted to use the instructions from "Remove a Driver Package from the Driver Store" but the driver (Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator; C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Microsoft.Bluetooth.Legacy.LEEnumerator.sys) was not found in the 'pnputil.exe -e ' output. The only drivers from Microsoft were printer drivers.
Also, I notice the date of the Microsoft.Bluetooth.Legacy.LEEnumerator.sys driver is from 2006? I think it's time for an updated driver.
I have tried a USB keyboard, and I have not seen the issue with it.
