PDF files will no longer open on Windows Phone - Can't Open on EDGE

I've researched, cleared caches, and downloaded other PDF readers from the store to no luck ...

Since fixing a MAPS error with a Hard Reset, I've found that I can't open PDFs on my phone anymore. With Windows 10 on my Lumia 650 phone, the default/only way to see PDFs were (add still are) through EDGE.

When I click the file, whether it's on- or off-line, it would appear to proceed and open how it use to but end up saying:

Here is the converted link from an offline PDF file that accompanies the Message above (..the same prefix appears with online PDF files):

ms-appx-web:///assets/errorpages/ErrorPages.html?error=100000#file:///C:/Data/USERS/Public/Documents/EM_2018_schedule.pdf

When I email this and other PDFs to myself or click on PDFs online and open them on my PC, I'm able to see the file through EDGE without problems/error/issue.

Moved from: Microsoft Edge/ PDF, EPUB, and reading/ Windows 10

Microsoft completely missing the point here by suggesting we use a long winded work around to open pdf files because they failed to test their updates. We are the customer and we want and deserve one click opening as we had before, we do not want to wait until the next round of updates, we want you Microsoft to finish off this last update by getting it working and we want it NOW.

    Hello Jaq,

Thank you for letting us know. You may encounter issues when trying to access PDF files on Microsoft Edge after the latest update on Windows 10 Mobile. We are aware of the issue and our developers are working to resolved it. Rest assured that there will be an update in an upcoming release. In the meantime, we suggest that you download and install any available PDF reader apps from the Store. Make sure that you download or save the PDF file to your phone so you can open it on the PDF reader app.

Let us know if you have any questions.

10 days gone and still no fix - this is a feature that is actually pretty essential when using the phone for work. One would assume that there are some kind of testing procedures mandatory prior the rollout of a new upgrade, especially for crucial features. Well, lets be thankful that MS doesn't build cars, parachutes and pacemakers...

MS states that there won't be a future for Windows 10 mobile and blames the users showing little interest compared to Android and iPhones - but is this an excuse for poor testing procedures? For us diehard Windows 10 mobile phone users it is painful to see how MS fails again and again to deliver the right arguments to win Android and iPhones users over and to provide a reliable OS for business use. Oh well, Elbert Hubbard is long dead, and I guess not many of the MS subject matter experts even know him...

. ...The line between failure and success is so fine that we scarcely know when we pass it — so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it. How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience, would have achieved success. As the tide goes clear out, so it comes clear in. In business sometimes prospects may seem darkest when really they are on the turn. A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success. There is no failure except in no longer trying. There is no defeat except from within, no really insurmountable barrier save our own inherent weakness of purpose....

Well said Jaq. I hope someone is actually listening.

For a person who just spent good money on a new HPx3 with insurance, and is constantly sending and  receiving business related pdfs, thanks for now requiring 6 clicks instead of one to open a document.

"Rest assured that there will be an update in an upcoming release "

    Rest this..........
