SIM PIN2 to unlock mobile broadband device

My new Laptop is a Lenovo T470s (S/N PC0PXLX1) with a "Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A" WWAN card. 

After working well for 6 weeks, I am now unable to get an internet connection using that adapter.

Windows 10 network diagnostics tells me I need to "Enter a SIM PIN2 to unlock the mobile broadband device". I can find no way to enter anything.

Tech support at both AT&T and Lenovo have never heard of SIM PIN2 and each blames the other for the problem. I have talked to each several times and have been referred to "advanced tech support." 

My internet provider is AT&T.

This community has referred to a "provider specific software" that solved one participant's similar problem.

My provider, AT&T, has given me two PUK numbers. I suspect their PUK2 may be the SIM PIN2, but I still have no way to utilize that information.

HELP!

    Just register your device IMEI number like a cellular phone.

    hi,

    I just wanna share my experience with the error sim pin2 error issue.

    since I have the same struggle with some of you.

    I have Toshiba Portege z30-A without card include and without the SIM card hole on the machine body. but someday I upgrade my RAM size. since then I knew that the machine has a SIM card Slot and Modem Slot. then I figure out what WWAN card that default for the machine and it is Sierra EM7305.

    I got the same issue that the Simcard or device locked due to sim Pin2 after installing them

    I did this action to solve it:

    1. finding a solution on the net return to the same problem
    2. change Simcard from several providers (not solved) but working fine on my phone
    3. update the drivers and firmware (not solved)
    4. etc.

    BUT the connection establishes after I did some action bellow and the error gone.

    1. update the firmware to the generic version from last Vodafone version before ( find it on Sierra website)
    2. the most important (i think) connect the card with the antennas. I tried without an antenna before. I use wifi antenna since I have no WWAN antennas.
    3. when changing the Simcard, unplug the card then plugin again

    I don't know if what I did is the default for change the Modem or Sim card but the most important is the error gone and never come back.

    now I have the LTE connection from any provider I tried.

    What finally worked for me was updating the manufacturer's (not Levono) WAN card firmware.  Once this firmware was updated, everything worked like a charm. Here's the link:

    You will have to select your carrier and either Windows or Linux and you may have to create an account to drill down but it's free.

    ohhh i finally did it the problem was Npcap Loopback Adapter

    i disable it and now we back in business

    hi

    unfortunately, it didn't work for me I update the last driver but nothing happened i know you sad firmware  but the problem is I can't be sure what is my actual device firmware and the other problem is that i don't have those Carriers my sim card Carrier is MTN so its not possible for me to update the right firmware for my device

     I own a Dell E72250 with

    5809e sierra wireless

    and my device model is EM7305

    I would be appreciated if you could help me THanks
