2018 Can't adjust brightness after Windows 10 update

After one of the recent upgrades to Windows 10, my Dell Laptop brightness is off the charts. I can find no way to adjust it. The function buttons no longer work. Under settings, the display setting provides no adjustment for brightness. I've read online about others having this problem a few years ago; I haven't found anyone talking about it as a recent issue. I have tried the fixes that were listed; none of them have worked. Please Help.

Press Windows key + X

Click Device Manager

Expand Display adapters

Right click the current display adapter

Click Properties

Click Driver tab

Click Rollback driver if the option is available

If not

Right click the current display adapter

Click Uninstall

Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device.”

Exit Device Manager

Restart

Go to Start -> Settings -> Update & security, then Check for updates and install any available updates.

    Ok....I just rolled back to 2010 driver...no luck.. another Cumulative update installed just now....do u have Intel graphics too or???

    I just finished installing the the latest cumulative update and after the restart, the brightness control works again finally. I can't believe that an update could actually solve a problem without creating a new one (or at least I hope so).

    Wow....what make nake is your Laptop...mine is Acer 2011.

    Yesterday 11/June, downloaded Intel Driver update. Before that 8/June for the same one.

    Quality or Cumulative...10/June...KB4100403....

    Feature update...8/June....

    No luck.....

    I solved this issue please follow steps as described;

     I resolved this issue by Hit & trial method, I did as all MS representatives said but nothing happened. Then I uninstalled all my display drivers and installed old version driver that was for windows-7. But its working I am finally now able to adjust my brightness.

    No updated driver helped me..!

    Did you install the Win 7 Drivers from the Acer/HP website dated back to 2012 or ????   Please update. Thanks
