Latest Windows update makes everything HUGE

My husband's desktop (running Windows 10) downloaded and installed a major Windows update Nov. 22. After it did, his screen is huge. Icons, text, everything. I checked his resolution, icon size, text size and ease of access settings -- nothing out of place. Resolution is normal. Icon size is small. Text size is normal, all ease of access off. The screen zoom is 100%. If I system restore to before the update, it's fine. I tried to change the active hours to give myself a day to hunt down the answer today, but it updated again this morning, and the problem is back. We've restarted, powered off and did a hard restart, powered off and checked the monitor settings. It has to be a bug or a conflict with the new update, but I'm stumped. Anyone??

    I don't know. I tried that earlier, and it didn't really change. By the way, the driver is an ATI HD 4200, but the adapter says "Microsoft Basic Dispay Adapter." That one I can't update, roll back or uninstall.

    Did you see this? Note that he addresses the Basic Adapter in Option 2. You should be able to extrapolate from that to your problem:

    Hey SailedBooch6838,

    Came across this early this morning.

    "Microsoft have now removed the offending driver from their update server so if you remove the new driver for the graphics adapter from your machine and then allow Windows to reinstall drivers for the adapter, it will only be able to find the older, working driver and should install this."

    1. "Go to Device Manager and Display Adapters then right click on your adapter, e.g. ATI Radeon HD 2600, then select "Uninstall device" and **tick "Delete the driver software for this device"**then click "Uninstall"
    2. Restart the computer (not shutdown, but restart) and Windows should then download the old driver."

    Is there anything that CAN be done? I seem to be exhausting all the possibilities. Every AMD Catalyst install won't remove "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", I can't update or roll it back, system restore won't do a thing. And to top it off, now certain games no longer work because I have the message "could not load OpenGL subsystem," and the popular fix that is used to correct THAT issue hasn't been working for me. Is there ANYTHING I can do?

    The Reimage Plus software has been categorized as malware or at best a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by Malwarebytes.com (Free) and (Paid) versions.  Malwarebytes.com is considered authoritative in these matters.

    This should tell you everything you need to know about Reimage Plus software programs.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is true.
