2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4088776) - Error 0x80070002

I have been struggling with this issue for well over a month, It first started with the "2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4090913)". Now its update Tuesday and this months cumulative update (KB4088776) is doing the exact same thing.

I have tried all 5 of the steps provided by microsofts here:                            (More than once)

Finally, I have done a clean install of windows 10 three times now in the past couple of weeks, to no prevail. 

After each fresh install. the exact same issue.

I am running Windows 10 Pro Education, Version 1709, build 16299.15.

After each install it seems to update no problem, but seems to only be an issue once I reactivate my Windows 10 Pro Activation key.

I gave up weeks ago, and was hoping my problem would simply be solved by the latest update, but that is not the case.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I am not a 'techie' just want a PC that runs windows 10 and updates without me having to spend hours tinkering with things I don't really understand.  Come on Microsoft, pull your finger out and help me (and 1000's of others with the same problem).

    I agree.  Microsoft needs to iron out the bugs before publishing these updates to download and install.

    I have the same question.....KB4088776 will not update after more than a dozen restarts and running the Windows Update Troubleshooter about a dozen times also.

    hello,

    I am facing the same problem but the solution as I think is pretty easier, int the windows update that will show to you this update failed, what you should do only press on that update, then Microsoft update website will open automatically, then go the bottom on this site you will find ' Microsoft Update Catalog' press on it, then a new page will open contains a full list of update , press the update that failed to install, then it will  be downloaded, then go and install it. the problem is solved as I hope

    Me, too. I asked for help from some agents from Microsoft. I let them control my PC to fix it, but they also could not solve it.

    Yes I also let them have control of my pc but they didn't solve it either . 

    I'm wondering if I should but a new pc and start again but I certainly will not have windows 10 again.
