Original question:
I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

2018-08-29T14:52:04+00:00 Sounds like an Amazon Kindle or Fire tablet that you are using on your wireless network.
It will still show up as a computer because, well it is a computer.

2018-08-28T01:49:02+00:00 I had a Google sign-in notification showing a picture of a computer and listed a KFAUWI device. My son had just signed in on his Amazon Fire 7 tablet so I knew it had to be his device the notification was referring to. When I researched I found the following link.

2018-08-11T22:48:33+00:00 I find that these phantoms are mostly Amazon devices which aggressively try and use WPS to connect to a WiFi network. However I have also seen other Android phones/tablets appear as phantoms as well. I have never seen an Apple device appear. I am pretty sure Apple is against WPS; one of the few times I agree with Apple's take.
