Amazon Device randomly showing up on Network.

Original question:

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

    Seeing this occurring frequently since 2017... Microsoft as well as the FCC should be checking/investigating it.  If they're not, we can't trust either to do anything with it.  If it's dangerous, if it's benign, computer networking will find only few secure systems operating.

    I have an austin, too. Different mac address. Shows as a network device on my pc but not in the list of connected clients on the router. 

    On Windows 10 1709 16299.64. I'm sure its something to do with a recent cumulative update.

    Funny, I have a karnak (instead of your austin) all infos identical from screenshot above just different MAC address. This device DOES NOT SHOW in my router either.

    Definitely fishy !!!!

    Sounds to me like you've got someone who hacked your Network's Password.  They shouldn't show up if they aren't a part of your network.

    I would recommend changing your PW to something that is 16-32 characters in length, mixing capital and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.  An example of personal favorite of mine is QWER!@#$qwer1234

    I also have this INTERMITTENT appearance on my home network.  Identical to MoDem-FoX with exception to mac: address 74:d6:37:88:7a:69 -----  amazon mustang model KFMUWI.

    I accessed my wireless router - didn't show up there.  While rummaging around router I/Os, the device dropped out.
