The websites appuals.com and thewindowsclub.com may be recommending programs you shouldn't download or install. The information on the pages is safe, but the programs are often classified as PUPs (Potentiall Unwanted Programs.)

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

2018-02-15T21:18:32+00:00 I have the exact same issue. Properties shows a MAC address but no IP. Also an Amazon device of which I have none. Disappears after about a minute.

2018-01-17T12:35:21+00:00 Much as I thought the explanations offered in this link seemed unlikely, I thought that I had nothing to lose by turning off WPS on my router.
I have to eat humble pie, because I have not seen any of these spurious devices since.

2017-12-29T15:56:36+00:00 I no longer have the issue. I bought a new hard drive, reinstalled Windows 10, dumped Comcast and increased security. Drastic but effective.

2017-12-10T19:11:30+00:00 Just speculating on the Dell thing. However, I've built my own in the past and they do hold a lot of patents on the parts and pieces. Still a person of interest, IMO. Besides, my efforts were moot. It came back, disappeared again and now there's another unknown named "full ford" and it's disappeared, just as quickly as I'm typing and "austin" disappeared again. The Comcast scenario is also of interest. I use Comcast and don't put anything past them. It makes me wonder if it's cars passing by? Time to increase security.
