Windows Update Error 0x800f0922

Followed all of these and getting different error codes  on several occasions. After 51 % of down loading error message props up and it starts reversing. There is enough of disc space, 900G, and McFee was also turned OFF. NET Framework Version is 4.7. 

PS: On my tablet it was automatically updated to version 1809 with no problem.

Error 0x800f0922 occurs when downloading the newest update of Windows 10. It also means that you have less than 500 MB in system reserved partition. You may follow the methods provided below and check if you'll be able to update your device.

Method 1. Check your Internet connection

You need to make sure that you have an internet connection and if possible, you are using wired connections

Method 2. Check .NET Framework

Make sure you have the latest version of NET Framework installed. You may enable it in Windows features. Here's how:

1. Type Windows Features on the search bar and press Enter.
2. Select Turn Windows Features on or off.
3. Check any boxes related to DotNet Framework and save selection.
4. Restart your PC.

Method 3. Turn off your Firewall

We know that this is strange doing, but even Firewall can prevent updates occasionally. Here's how you can turn it off:

1. Type Firewall on the search bar and press Enter.
2. Open Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
3. Turn off Firewall for both private and public networks.
4. Save your selection.
5. After saving your selection, you may try updating your device.

        As suggested above, I have tried all the above options, but not able to update Windows.

       I opened the Windows Features and did not find Dotnet file, but I did find .NET Framework and >NET framework 4.7(Advanced) files and checked them. After completion of the process, I got a message:-

      "Windows could not complete the required changes. Windows requires a reboot to return to original position"

      I tried it twice and everytime, I got the above message though I also turned the Firewall(Public and Private Firewall).

     The problem remains unchanged though the update is being downloaded automatically and subsequently reversed.

    Now I have got the new message" Your device is missing important security and quality fixes."

Perhaps it is for the above update.

I can empathize with your Update Pain. I'm a System Administrator of a mid-sized Company and now imagine to have 20-30 Windows 10 Machines over Night beeing stuck in an Update loop. A complete Nightmare. When I set up a new Machine it is always problematic when Windows Updates interfere during this Process. E.g. Windows immediately triggers Updates when you just plug in your LAN Cable and Windows sees Internet (or a WSUS). And when you just use Home or Pro Edition the Options of Update Control are very limited compared to the Enterprise Editions of Windows.

So I investigated for a save and resistant Method to permanently disable Windows Updates as long as the Setup of my Machines is not completed. I found a Way to completely eradicate the Windows Update Functionality and how to stop it from either searching for Updates as well as to prevent it from reenabling itself. This Procedure is reversible at any Time, so Updates can be reenabled if desired. I'm using a Windows 10 (Version 1709) Machine myself at Home with permanently disabled Updates since over 1 Year and there had been never any Updates so far. There are a lot of Steps to complete and there are some Tools out there to perform the Task of disabling Windows Updates. But the Problem is that Windows Update can reenable itself. So just disabling some Services is not the Solution. Theres's the evil WaaSMedic Service, that monitors all the other Update Components. If any Component is manipulated this Service will restore the Component based on a Template. So you also have to change Permissions on some Files, Folders and Registry Keys. If have not seen any Tool so far doing this in such a detailed Way I do on all my Machines. Because the Steps to enable/disable Updates this Way take about 15-20 mins. each Time I'm thinking about making a Script for that Task.

I manually downloaded the update from Microsoft. Finding it there was a job. Thank You, it installed just fine by downloading the whole thing and installing it.
