Windows 10 update broke my computer?

Hello. I'm quite unhappy with my entire experience. I have had to contact support multiple times because my computer "wasn't on the list" of computers able to run the latest updates. I find this incredibly ironic, as it has 8gb of ram, lots of disk space,  and a very nice processor (~2.6ghz). I have had my agents help me as much as they could, and that wasn't the bad part, they did great! For a day... Somehow, even after they went and did the whole thing about delaying updates for 8 months or so, The Windows 10 update installer app downloaded. It has hogged me for the past week, with me having to abort multiple updates, not wanting to lose my pc again. I am a student, and can not afford a new one, but just recently I gave up and let it update. It quit out halfway through, as usual, and went back to the same condition it was at. Nothing works.

This is not like last time, I had to get a Windows 10 system on a usb, and repair my boot loader last time. This time, Windows simply won't do anything. It's currently telling me the only option left is a hard reset.

I have physically tried everything besides a hard reset. I refuse. Why should I lose my personal belongings, when it's out of my control? This is not an issue with anything except Windows. What can be done about this? I am very disappointed in the fact this has ruined my computer, I really hope you can do something about this.

    Look back on this thread and you'll read my tales of woe.I agree on the lawsuit, there must be more than a few with varying degrees of damaged computers and lost files. Some irreplacable. Calling the help line might get you a walk through with an agent who has been fielding 1000s of calls just like yours. Remember they're not to blame, I had a manager confess that he was as angry about the 'developers' as the users of windows 10. Because the developers don't try it out on a wide enough selection of computers. Apparently I should have updated the BIOS on my laptop, but how was I to know that? Moronsoft just update with no warnings about what should be done before the update. Their baby but they refuse to accept being the parent.

    Everything is on mine! Literally my dachshunds that just passed away, taxes, etc, I think there ought to be a class action lawsuit. It is almost like it was done on purpose.

    I reset the computer to get two updates that were making my laptop unresponsive and slow. The computer immediately restarted and installed 6 more updates that I can't uninstall. I can't restart the computer because the so-called updates are installed as fast as the terrorist possibly can. Then I have to wait for them to take them off and restore the computer because they can't get them to install correctly. Now it's almost unusable. Microsoft owes me a new laptop. This isn't the first time. I had to take it in and pay $300 to get it fixed last summer, got it back and it was like new, with each update THAT I DID NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR the laptop got worse and worse--won't scroll up or down, my entire network was taken out  drivers everything at one point, won't respond to anything I try to get it to do, freezes, so slow it times out--it's got me tearing my hair out. You cannot tell me there's anyone with a brain working on these updates that are being installed into our computers! High school kids perhaps. I'm sending Microsoft the bill for replacing the computer.

    To disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates:

    1. Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services
    2. Scroll down to Windows Update in the resulting list
    3. Double click the Windows Update Entry
    4. In the resulting dialog, if the service is started, click 'Stop'
    5. Set Startup Type to Disabled

    Thank you, I expect this will save me no end of problems. Until WIN 10 forces this setting undone!

    I never want to see another WIN 10 Update, they just break my PC!

    The update broke my computer nd it is 100% fried. Microsoft has ruined my life for the last time. I swear off Microsoft today, and will never pay for another one of their products!
