Moving Forza Horizon 3 Game Data To Another PC

Hi,

I have recently purchased Forza Horizon 3 on the Windows App Store on my Surface Pro 3. I downloaded it onto my Surface Pro 3 because i have access to NBN (faster internet) at work where i was able to download the game within an hour or so.

I want to copy the game data to a USB so i can then install the game on my home pc. I was unable to download the game on my home pc as my interent would take a week to download.

I have tried moving the data using the in built windows function Settings>System>Apps & Features then selecting Froza Horizon 3 and select move to my USB, but i get an error message "We couldnt move Forza Horizon 3. The operation did not complete successfully. Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x80073d0b, in case you need it".

I then tried by taking ownership of the Windowsapp folder and finding the game data "Microsoft.OpusPG_1.0.10.2_x64__8werkyb3d8bbwe". But when i try to copy and paste it onto my usb (which has plenty of space and is formatted in NTFS) it keeps telling me i need to "provide administrator permission to copy to this folder" i select continue and then prompts "you need permission to perform this action".

Doe sanyone know how i can copy the game data for Forza Horizon 3 to my home pc as i cannot download 50GB from home.

    I can't believe after all this time there is no backup function in the Store. To make matters worse, my machine downloaded and installed a Windows update last night and it broke my Store while my Forza was 90% done downloading.

    Now when I try to continue with the download, I get a 0x80070005 error.

    I have a 6mb/s line, so to download the whole 55GB again, is gonna take forever. This is really unacceptable.

    Is there no way to transfer game files between PC's? I downloaded the game on my laptop and would like to transfer it to my desktop PC. It is the very same account that's running on both machines.

    I really hope there is a solution for this problem and we get a backup function.

    Resurrecting this post because I was thinking of buying Forza 7, but decided to download the demo first. 20 Gb, ok, not that bad, but still is one whole day downloading. So i downloaded it from my laptop, at work. It took a few hours, but cool. When I got home, I booted up my laptop and my gaming pc, to transfer the game. Nope, no can do. Tried everything, even using Linux, still no. So yeah Microsoft, you are really behind on this. I'm sure I'm not the only one that decided against purchasing the game because of this. You're losing money because of these ancient practices, not earning more! You might say it's because of anti-piracy measures, but NO OTHER GAMING CLIENT DOES THIS. And I don't have to tell you how much money Valve makes without caring much for this type of anti-pireacy measure. So what do you think happens when people like me, that basically cannot download huge games anytime they want, want to purchase your products, but can't because of this? What do you think happens when there is another similar product (and let's be honest here, cheaper and superior) on another platform? Good bye Forza 7, hello Project Cars 2.

    Your solution seems interesting but it seems Microsoft don't want us to download the game to have a backup because they just removed the app from the Store.

    Any other alternative?.

    MICROSOFT WHY ARE YOU PURPOSEFULY MAKING OUR LIFE SO DIFFICULT?.   GIVE US A BACKUP OPTION ALREADY !

    Wow. I was about to buy Forza because I wanted a racing game on my new PC, but I'm not buying something I can't download from somewhere else. Thanks for helping me make my decision to NOT buy the game.

    Let me just Bump this post and say this:

    Please do not offer more lame suggestions for re-downloading the game or backing up save game data!

    The OP (and my self) wants a way to backup the game, because downloading 50GB will still for some/most take a lot of time and possible money. For example for me 50GB costs 100$... 

    STEAM (and most others) is able to do this and so should Windows Store!
