Xbox One Wireless controller keeps disconnecting

Hello.

I recently bought a Xbox One Wireless controller with the PC wireless adapter.

The problem is... after I logon into Windows 10 the controller connects fine ONE TIME, then, after turning it off and then turning it on again, the controller connects (light stay still) for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the controller turns off again, I even can use it in those 1 or 2 seconds, showing that it successfully connected, but then it disconnects. The problem is only solved after I logoff and login again into Windows (don't need to do a full reboot).

My wired Xbox 360 controller works like a charm. Why do the next gen controller of Microsoft doesn't work well with a system developed by the same company? When I google it, it's problems all around. And judging by the behavior, it's a driver problem, not hardware, cause if it was a defective unit a simple logoff-login wouldn't fix it (and lots of other people wouldn't have similar problems).

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: link to the same post on the Feedback Hub: https://aka.ms/Phrwta so anyone passing by can easily enter and give a vote to the problem. Thanks!

    Hey, Greg.

My problem is completely gone. And I think this has something to do with the latest Windows Insider build (posted mine on the last reply).

You said one of your pcs has the problem and the other don't. Maybe one of them is with the windows insider updates and the other is only with the regular updates. Check it out, please.

If someone out of the Insider program and without the Creators update isn't having this problem, then this probably has nothing to do with Windows itself. And maybe really it's a Steam related problem or something else.

Thanks for your time and input everyone!

Guys just uninstall GeForce Experience, this was the solution for me.

Happens to me but I don't have Geforce Experience installed. I have Intel only, not nVidia.

Hey, people!! Coming back here to say that, apparently, the problem is gone!

I don't know if it was the Geforce Experience or the latest build of Windows 10, but now I can disconnect and connect without the need to logoff and login again!

Just for the record... my Geforce Experience is version 3.5.0.69 and Windows 10 1703 Build 15063.13 (info on the "About Computer" screen)

I'm in the Windows Insider program, so the build could be newer than of someone that's out. So, if someone has an older build of W10 and the problem is also solved, the probable culprit really was the GeForce Experience.

Please, if possible, leave your feedback so we could know which was the buggy software.

Thank you very much to everyone that contributed!

In my case it seems to be the Nvidia Geforce Experience. I updated it to the very last build today (3.5.0.69) and now it seems to work again.

What fixed it for me on Windows 10 with Xbox one wireless receiver/controller was that I went to device manager and noticed that the Unified Virtual HID device said something about driver not started because of signature etc. Tried a few things, none worked but what did was (click reboot while holding shift to turn of signature verification. After the reboot, back to device manager and the driver was installed and working. fired up a game and played 10 minutes or so and not a single disconnect, whereas before I did that it would always disconnect within 30 seconds.

    Hope it works for you.
