Windows Live Mail and Calendars

I have tried your solution without success.  My email account is different than my MS account.  I have uninstalled WE2012 & WE2011 several times, tried the Repair feature and every other suggestion on this thread.  None have worked.  Again this problem has appeared since the upgrade to WIN10 was announced.

I did steps 1 and 2 to stop synchronizing calendar and contacts. This is not a problem for me, I don't require that right now. I enabled send and receive messages at start up  and check for new messages every ____ minutes. I can now send and receive emails with no problems in windows 10.

I really would like to have access to my calendar via my iPhone

The Outlook Calendar (Preview) should sync to the iPhone if you set up the account as an Exchange account. The problem is that the calendar in Windows Live Mail won't synchronize with the one at Outlook Calendar.

... will we be informed when the trouble is corrected?

I expect there'll be a new patch released at some stage, but I doubt we'll be told if it is. We'll find out eventually.

Thanks for carrying out the tests. We seem to have established that the d-Mail.msp patch causes Windows Live Mail 16.4.3563.0918 on Windows 10 to crash when attempting to synchronize the calendar after it's been upgraded to Outlook Calendar (Preview). The common crash elements are

Faulting module name: wcsync.dll, version: 16.4.3563.918, time stamp: 0x55fc5749

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x0001e681

Until this is fixed, you won't be able to synchronize the calendar or contacts for the account concerned. They will still be available online, but if not having access to them in Windows Live Mail is a major problem for you, there are workarounds - post back and say so if this is the case. Follow steps 1 and 2 below to stop the program trying to sync them and prevent the crash caused by wcsync.dll.

Meanwhile, I'd like to know whether you're able to send and receive messages with the account concerned. This only applies to those of you who already have the account set up as an HTTP account; to check, right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties. If there are only three tabs in the properties dialogue, it is an HTTP account, also shown at the top of the Server tab.

If you can't get that far because the program crashes, you'll have to prevent the crash:

1. Disconnect from the Internet before trying to launch Windows Live Mail
2. When the program opens, press Ctrl-Shift-O for Options. On the Connection tab, click Stop signing in and dismiss the warning. Close the options dialogue.
3. Click Send/Receive.

Hi,

   I have an imap account (gmail - there are 5 tabs in the properties window) and I am able to send and receive mail when I open Windows Live Mail.   I only have the calendar issue when I try to access the calendar as I described before.  

   I really would like to have access to my calendar via my iphone as that's how I track all my appointments for work.  Also will we be informed when the trouble is corrected?
