Just for your info ... if it's still hung on that screen for 3 minutes, manually turn the PC off and back on again. Do this 3 or 4 times, and recovery should start.

Hi, I have a Samsung XE500T1C slate that till the beginning of March was working great. After a Windows update the slate never booted back into Windows. A system restore worked fine till the next week when the Windows updates were re-installed. Regrettably my restore point was gone and I had to restore to factory and then upgrade to Windows 8.1.
After the update to 8.1 I was again not able to boot up. Restarting in safe mode and eliminating devices one at a time revealed the Realtek I2S audio device was causing the problem. Searching Bing (ok it was Google that found it) shows other have the same issue.
As long as I leave the audio device disabled my slate works fine. When I enable it audio works but the camera operational LED turns on. Then if I restart the slate it never boots back up and its back to safe mode to disable the Realteck I2S audio device.
Windows 8.1 is fully updated. My slate system software is fully updated...All updates are in place so please don't suggest that!
Removing the Windows updates that came down on March 10th did not work.
Any ideas how to get audio back?

2015-07-31T14:56:56+00:00 I agree. For those that have it running, can you give a little bit more detail on what you did. Which drivers you used, did you redownload drivers, are they updated on Samsung Site?
I ran an inplace upgrade after downloading and creating a USB stick. After rebooting windows 10 was up and running. Installed the audio drive and then rebooted and stuck on a Samsung logo. Left it for an hour of so and rebooted and same thing. Waiting for the recovery window now.

2015-07-31T14:47:07+00:00 After 3 or 4 failed boots, it should launch recovery, which will let you do a System Restore (assuming you had a System Restore point). If you don't have a System Restore point, you may have to reset the device to get the base OS installed again.
I'm not convinced that this issue is solved in any means.

- After you had your sound working in Windows 10, are you also able to restart the PC successfully, without it hanging at a spinning circle Samsung screen?
I had a copy of the files from before that were downloaded using the SW update tool. After installing the sound worked until I rebooted and all I saw was the hanging screen with the spinning circle, tablet is now dead.
