Age of Mythology - Windows 10

I recently purchased a custom built pc packed with windows 8.1 which I upgraded to Windows 10.

I installed Age of Mythology yesterday and when I try to run the game nothing happens. I have tried all compatibility suggestions and I get the same result.

I also have this same problem with black and white 2.

I have a NVIDIA Geforce gtx 980 graphics card installed in my pc.

Can you provide any suggestions please.

    The problem i had was that directplay wasn't active which aom needs, directplay is off by default on windows 10. Search on yt on how to activate it

    Hi, so far no fix has worked for me.  I have already had to re-install Win10 twice on my PC because its a ridiculously fussy, fickle and inflexible operating system that has caused so many conflicts with hardware and software.  So as much as I'd love to be able to play the old games (which sickeningly are also MS Games so u wonder...?) I also don't want to do any unnecessary tweaking in case Win10 breaks again!  Its actually a darn right shame that they cant even keep an operating system that still does everything instead of the spoilt and selfish thing its become today! Doesn't play well with others!!!!

    Hmmm, worked beautifully for me,

    here is the link to ALL the fixed exe's and NO CD's for Age of Myth

    Perhaps uninstall & reinstall and then DON'T patch as I suggested, instead use the early version fixed .exe instead, I only linked the final one as after I updated in worked on my win 10 rig.

    One of these should work for you if you catch match the game version, you may have to try them all to see which one works.

    I'll try the steam uploads as you suggest. Not holding much hope though.

    I am aware safedisc is unsupported. I just hoped microsoft would have provided people with a workaround, macromedia had some kind of solution or if someone out there had found a solution they wanted to share.

    Same problem, AOM (not GOLD).

    It is curius that I have no problems with Adobe, Corel-Pinacle, Cyberlink... software and a Microsoft game failed!
