Metadata staging failed event 131

my computer runs fine but i keep getting this error and i have no idea how to fix.  i never had this error until i turn on my machine today. i have not installed anything new programs  nor uninstalled anything and i only see that my comp installed updates to the windows defender and that's pretty much it

    Microsoft this is poor - in agreement with amtino - this error is back following 'daylight saving'  what is going on with the timing at the Microsoft end.

    You fix something (2ndOctober)  and following daylight saving it re-appears on 29th October. 

    I too will be going back to the substitute url and staying there.

    I have been running windows successfully on the correct time server and the correct url in the registry since 2nd October when Microsoft assured me the timing error had been fixed.

    I agree it appeared it had and my systems were working flawlessly and I finally accepted after six months of begging, they had finally answered my requests.

    However!    at 1am on 29th October during maintenance I note that on all 3 operating systems I have, the 131 event ID returned.

    I have tried changing the time server to nist.gov - doesn't work for me.

    I find it hard to believe that Microsoft fixed this on 2nd October and then a few days after 'daylight saving'   it suddenly re-appears.

    I have reverted back to the alternate url in the registry and all is well.

    I for one will never change my systems back to the correct url, I cannot trust Microsoft anymore with their open ended promises and this merely racks havoc with my systems.

    I am sure all of you will note the Event ID 131 has returned.

    I googled "Windows 10 Forum" and there were several sites with similar names.  Can you be more specific about which one you were suggesting?

    No I have not received any schannel errors & only got them sporadically when I had Win 8 or 8.1. The most common errors I am receiving in win 10 are a DCOM 10016 error & a Service control 7031 error. If you are thinking of upgrading to Win 10 I would suggest you go to a site called “Windows 10 Forum”, it has a good list of several errors people are experiencing. I think I have been getting about half of those listed.
