'Battery Alert' appears before the 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.', however, ' Cooling Fan Alert' appears after 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.'

Hi,

First of all: I know that I have been having a problem with my HP Laptop Battery, and with its cooling Fan.

However, I am now wondering what detected this error below as long as it was shown even before  the notification saying 'the press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' Thus, if the BIOS detected that there was a problem with the HP Battery storage', then this error should have been listed after 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' was passed.

'HP Battery Alert:    The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.'

That alert lasted about 15 seconds, and then the 'press 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' is shown.

Next: This is error below showed me::

'The system didn't detect that a cooling fan is operating correctly'

I know that BIOS detected that a problem with 'Cooling Fan' since the Alert of error was shown after passing 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.'

Any comments would be highly appreciated

    Desktops do not have an integrated card on the motherboard, they are either integrated into the CPU like your laptop or the use the older style AGP or newer PCIe slots.

    Firstly::

    No, I have Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM(DDR), and Graphics Card with 256MB of RAM)

    My P 4 has a motherboard integrated Graphics Card(onboard(Internal) VGA), Audio Card, and Network adapter. The motherboard manufacturer is Asrock(775i65G(REV: G/A 2.12), and  AGP slot to which a removable graphics card can be installed, and  so you can upgrade.

    Secondly:

    The amount of memory for the internal GPU is set in the BIOS.

    There is no memory amount for the internal GPU set in the BIOS at all.There is only: Processor Type: Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-2410M. CPU@2.30GHz.

    Thirdly: I know that the manufacturer of discrete GPU integrated into motherboard is AMD. But, What is the manufacturer of internal GPU integrated into CPU?

    Intel, You must set the BIOS to disable the internal/Intel GPU and just use the HD6770.


    Thirdly:

    Although there is no option at all in my BIOS to set internal/Intel GPU to disable, I would like you to let me know:::

    1- Why must I set that? If I had set that, then I could be no longer able to switch between graphics 'power-saving GPU, which is Intel GPU, and high-performance GPU, which is 'discrete GPU/HD6770.

    2- I can switch between graphics (IGUP) and (DGPU) without seeing Switchable Graphics Mode in my BIOS

    I am nearly sure that there is no option to set the Intel GPU to disable in my BIOS. I have tried that before(could you please take some time to look at my points below).

    I can switch between two graphics 'Intel graphics and ATI Radeon Graphics', although the ' that option 'switchable graphics mode' found in the third screen shot below is not seen in my BIOS at all.

    In this screen shot below, Intel graphics is only active.

    In this screen shot below, ATI Radeon graphics is only active.

    But I didn't find any striking difference between when integrated GPU is only active and when the Discrete (dGPU) is only active. Thus, why should I choose one other than the other?

    What do I get?

    As long as I can switch between two graphics without seeing this switchable graphics mode in my BIOS, I think that I don't need to update the BIOS to enable switchable graphics mode

    Yes, I really couldn't find any option to 'Selecting a Switchable Graphics Method, Dynamic Scheme or Fixed Scheme. Is it because  switchable graphics mode is not seen in my BIOS?

    As discussed in the article, that switching between two graphics needs to update the BIOS until seeing Switchable Graphics Mode in BIOS. However, I have not updated the BIOS, but I can switch graphics (IGUP) and (DGPU) without seeing Switchable Graphics Mode in BIOS.

    Besieds, I really have updated my BIOS from version: F.05 into F.1B, but the switachable Graphics mode in this screen shot above wasn't found at all. Also, there is no Intel Smart Tecnology in BIOS as it there  in the screen shot above. I don't know why.

    My GUPs are AMD Radeon and Intel graphics

    Finally: You didn't comment on the screen shot of the speedfan utility. Have you seen that my fan working well or not?

    So, my questions are:

    Firstly: In the specifications, they didn't clarify  which is the discrete graphics card(discrete GPU) integrated into motherboard, and which is the Intel graphics card(internal GPU) integrated into CPU?

    Intel is the "Internal" (integrated into the CPU chip) graphics.

    Secondly: as long as my notebook is equipped with a dual core Intel processor, and Intel HD6770 graphics subsystem, and 1024-MB of discrete memory. So, I am confused how much  the memory size of internal GPU integrated into CPU.

    Firstly: Then, the desktop computers are much better than notebook computers since I noticed that almost all desktop computers have a graphics card integrated into motherboard, and another AGP slot to which an external  stand-alone graphics  card can be installed.

    Secondly: If you could see my motherboard screen shots posted before, then you definitely don't  agree with the way old thermal compound is applied(it is only on the tops and not the entire tops)(That was applied by the OEM vendor)

    Finally: You didn't comment on the screen shot of the speedfan utility. Have you seen that my fan working well or not?

    It should cover nearly the entire CPU / GPU after the heat sink is mounted on the CPU / GPU. What I do is apply 4 small dots of compound about halfway toward each corner of the CPU and one dot in the center and then mount the CPU.

    7- Why do you need me to run Speccy? I have that program installed.

    I was hoping it would show your CPU fan speed when different loads were applied. I would expect the fan to be at a slow speed (RPM) when the CPU / GPU are at or near idle and then display the fan speeds (which should increase in RPM) when the CPU is at 25%, 50%, and 75%

    4- IF you see my mother board screen shot posted before, you can see the CPU and GPU. So, do you think GPU is the discrete Graphics. My notebook have internal Intel Graphics which is built into the CPU, and external/discrete Graphics which built into mother board. Any GPU not part of (built into the CPU) is considered discrete but it appears that it is not on its own card which can be removed and upgraded to a faster GPU.

    5-  I think the GPU located in the screen shot of my mother board is the discrete which is built-in in the system board, however, internal Intel Graphics is built-in CPU. So, if discrete GPU got defective, I would need to replace the Mother board. However, if the internal graphics got defective, then I will only need to replace the CPU. Its rare that the internal graphics go bad, but you should only have the external unit enabled and disable the internal graphics disabled in the BIOS settings.

    6- If the discrete GPU defective would requite me to replace the entire mother board, then why was it called  discrete Graphics?????  See my reply to question #4.

    7- Why do you need me to run Speccy? I have that program installed.
