Put simply, it's unacceptable.
For my child, why would I want to have to manage completely different sets of limits, curfew, blocked/allowed games, allowed ratings, etc for every device to which they log in?
This needs to go back to the old way where the child's account spanned all devices to which they've logged in.
Furthermore, when attempting to manage this new format, here's what I see in my Family Safety area:
How is this helpful at all? Nowhere on this screen do I know the device for which I'm altering the settings. If I click another instance of my child's name, I have no idea which device that is going to either.
I also have a sneaking suspicion this recent change is what is causing so many parents to have settings not taking effect, etc. They're probably altering the settings for the wrong device (because they have no clue where they're at in the system and I don't blame them) or the backend is simply doing things wrong.
Please fix this.

Seriously, i'm a Mac. It was very hard to go windows - but I did for ONE REASON.
Family safety. It worked, it followed them between our devices.
A year ago I owned not ONE windows box, now we own 4. But you have screwed this up - and i'm totally not surprised. Just ticked that I let myself get suckered into it....

The FAQ outlines nothing different or new than I had before. My kids had MS accounts, and I had all the coming features.
But you broke that.
And make me regret going Windows over Mac for the kids.
This is unacceptable totally.... see the other thread that no one wants to apparently touch.
Jen can you at least give us some idea when there will at least be some parental controls available for windows Phone, as currently there are none except to limit apps downloads, so it is completely useless.
These parental controls also need to be able to be applied across all devices belonging to same user. My children are 6, 8 and 11, their age does not change according to what device he is using, so there is no reason why I would want to allow them view adult materialon one device and not another, I need to be sure my rules are applied to all devices all the time.

We've received a ton (of valid) feedback that this experience is less than ideal. We hear you - and we're absolutely working to make it better - but it takes time (and yes, I totally understand that might sound hollow).
There's a new pagehere:https://account.microsoft.com/family/faq/ that is designed to tell you (incredibly tenacious and very appreciated users) at a high level what's coming for family in Microsoft. The message that you might be seeing in other threads about kid accounts being unlinked is one of the things that is referenced there right now. Simply put, this was needed to ensure that we can have roaming accounts for our kids.
