Are you seeing inaccurate weather conditions in the MSN Weather App?

The MSN Weather team has received feedback from users of our Apps Windows & Windows Phone platform as well as the MSN Weather website about inaccurate weather conditions being reported ranging from Incorrect location detection (Home or Current), Inaccurate Current conditions (precipitation, temperature, wind etc.) or Forecast issues. Thanks for the feedback - we appreciate it very much. We are working to improve the quality of the app from a functionality and data perspective.

This discussion forum has been created to enable two-way communication between the MSN Weather team and users of the MSN Weather app (Windows, Windows Phone) around data quality issues users are experiencing with the app. When reporting issues, please be sure to provide us details that will help us diagnose issues faster such as:

User's Location (Current or Home)
Date of the Weather data anomaly.
Type of data issue - current conditions (temp, precipitation, wind) or forecast conditions
Version of OS (Windows, WP) on your device
Version of the app currently installed on the device

I've provided feedback about inaccuracies on the MSN Weather page three times now. I've done so while comparing current outside conditions at my location with the current reported conditions from MSN weather, weather.gov, weather.com, accuweather.com and intellicast.com. All of them report nearly identical conditions, except for MSN Weather, which is constantly off, by 10 or more degrees... and like today, where MSN states winds are 4 mph, while everyone else state they're 20-30, with a wind advisory. That is simply unacceptable, when there are several other information sites available.

I use MSN as my home page, because I'm a Hotmail user, and therefore, can get my news and weather also from the same page. I'd really hate to switch home pages, but if this can't be fixed, I might as well, since I have to go elsewhere to get my weather info...

Hello Dharmesh,

Thank you for clarifying your issue. It would be great if you could provide latitude / longitude of the location where its failing. You can get this information from any compass app from the phone store. It should be closer to these numbers 18.930130,72.830093.

While we are investigating this on our side, could you confirm if you are have phone with SD card installed? Though model Lumia 925 does not support SD card, we just wanted to confirm if you are by any chance using SD card. Also let us know if reinstalling the app works or not.
