How to get rid of "DNS Unlocker"?

Windows Defender can't remove DNS Unlocker Malware although my Windows Defeneder is up to date!! What to do?

I am just copying some other person's solution which worked for me.

After investigating, I found out that the damn "DNS Unlocker" had modified my DNS settings! After fixing this I was completely good! I have google chrome, so I am unsure if this fix persist to other browsers.

The path to do this follows:

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Right-click your active internet connection (usually Wi-Fi since everyone uses that, unless your using a desktop) and click properties > Now under the Networking tab, scroll down until you find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Highlight that then click on properties > Both options in this windows should be automatic! The first option should be set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and the second should be set to "Obtain DNS server address automatically!" If your computer belongs to a company or you actually have a custom DNS then this would not apply to you. Once you are finish, click "OK" and close the windows > Now go back into Chrome and reset your settings one more time and boom! It should work just fine.

If you do not see the program in Control Panel that you think is responsible for the ads and popups or you cannot uninstall it then move on to steps 2 and 3 (scan with AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes Free). If necessary you can run Hitman Pro (Trial Version) as suggested in step 4.  You may need to reset your browsers (see step 5).

    I may or may not have deleted a program from Programs & Features; I no longer recall and now, several days later, there is nothing there that appears relevant.

    I then proceeded to Network Connections

    Being paranoid, after I saw that both the IP address and the DNS server were set to Automatic on Properties/IP V4, I noticed the "Advanced" Button and pressed it.

    What I saw was three tabs, one of the labeled "DNS".

    Selecting that tab, I saw a box at the top labeled "DNS server addresses, in order of use".

    It had entries in it. This seemed strange, since I was allegedly getting my DNS server(s) automatically and I was certain I had never made any such entries.

    Incidentally, all three devices listed had the same entries.

    Today (three days later) I deleted the entries. In all three devices, although only the Wi-Fi is used for browsing the Internet.

    Testing the web sites appearing to be infected before shows no such problem now. So this appears to have worked.

    Oh, I did one more thing: since I don't use a search engine very often, and since the last three times I did so (also the first three times, and so the only three times) this or something worse happened, I changed my default search provider from Bing to Google. If you are using Bing and the above does not help, you might try changing default search providers as well.

    Also, note that I am using IE, not Edge. I used to think that made a difference, but now I am not so sure.

    **update**

    Today, 7/25/16, the problem returned -- not so much the ads at the bottom of the screen, but the random popups whenever I clicked on anything (including the IE drop-down used to select popup options for a given page). I was using Google. I once again deleted the DNS servers listed right where I said they were above (which means, they came back). This time, the problem did not go away until after I rebooted. Perhaps the system loads the DNS servers when it boots up and so still uses them after they are deleted.

    Not every web site is affected. This site, that is, this forum, is not affected even though I came to it using Google while other web sites were showing the problem.
