How to get rid of "DNS Unlocker"?

what i found help me with this , when I was going to network solituon Networking tab, scroll down until you find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)  I would click on that but there was no option to change the dns settings , it would say some like drivers not installed or could not access , in the end I went removed programs and I removed the realtek ethernet (which i think was hijacked or changed some how by dns unlocker )and rebooted the machine and then tried going back to internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and this time I could change the DNS settings this time . also was using norton which would block the data from the dnsunlocker but could not remove , but after i removed the reltek drivers using remove program  could then change the tcp dns settings and also you used virus scanner  afterwards ,maybe if you can download the realtek driver before you try this just in case but  this helped me out  also im using windows 8.1

Before going further down this thread, somebody needs to understand that a lot of us can't access Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) We are effectively locked out - it seems that a lot of us have been hit by something fiendishly clever called "DNSUnlocker". 

I believe there is a clue in the name, you see, apparently, the people who developed this agressively intrusive ad spammer which hijacks your browsers, especially Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and, of course, Mozilla Firefox have also got a little banner saying "Uninstall DNSUnocker". 

My techie friend told me that how it works is you have to buy the fix from them.

So I think they are sitting there feeling very smug that they have outwitted Google & Microsoft and have managed to commandeer OUR systems and lock us out of the mechanism to undo this DNS hack. 

The instructions they do give (which I checked out of desperation) also say to change settings for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), which appears to be the most common advice being given on the bulletin boards, but people saying this don't seem to realise many of us simply can't get the option to change this, it is greyed out. 

Some people have said this, and suggested a variety of 'fixes', none of which, so far, have worked for me. 

Hence the rather obvious name. "DNSUnlocker". 

I have tried a series of suggested fixes, from Google Chrome Clean up Tool (available under the "help" option at the very bottom of the Google Chrome download page) which recommends using Malware Bytes Anti-Malware. This MBAM does find stuff that HitmanPro doesn't. Then, at the end of running Google Clean up Tool it does actually reset your Google Chrome settings which kind of "contains" the virus and things do SEEM to be back to normal - however strange things keep happening.

I have also tried going into DOS Commands (which is better done from using Window Key + X which lets you into command prompt (Admin mode) and, from there tried several suggestions with the command ipconfig, such as /release /renew /flushdns some of which report "access denied" or another message indicating I am not getting control of my own system. 

"Access is denied! resetting failed. "

Other suggestions have included ADWcleaner to remove malware. 

So far, nothing works. 

There seems to be a suggestion that the TCPIP.SYS file might be corrupted, but I am not sure how to replace that. 

I have been into MSconfig too, but not found the services some people say they stopped to allow them to access the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) which was "Datamngr Coordinator".

The Users are the Losers in this chess-game of wits between the hackers and the system.

I missed out on an a valuable opportunity to bid on some work because I couldn't access the site because of intrusive advert pop-ups, this malware has also ruined my first long weekend off in ages. I am losing time, money and patience. Dear Lord, I hope someone finds a fix soon. 

Meanwhile I have a friend merrily repeating that I need to "Just format your hard drive and start again - its the only way". (Which I find most infuriating) If he was here I'd probably punch him in the face. Meanwhile, if the Hackers were here in the room with me I can think of some most exquisite tortures I would like to inflict on those evil b******s. 

Come on Microsoft, you've been making a fortune out of us Users for decades, now sort this out for us. Visit DNSUnlocker.com and get a virus and work out what it does and help your customers.

The suggestions sound good if you are good & know what UR doing. I have been going into winpatrol.com my scotty & to cookies and block any cookies associated with theses addresses. It is a little tough as dns-unlocker Ph. <phone number removed> I wrote to msn spam report & they wrote that they know about it but did not have a system to block it. DNS keeps blocking things even when we try to do something. Then there is stamplive.com that is just as bad Ph# <number removed> What we need to do is get the DEATH penalty for these people.
