Windows Media Player and Windows 10

OK. I just want to clarify and confirm. Windows Media Playerwill be available with Windows 10, but Windows Media Center will not be available.... Right? ( I hope so, as I usually use the Windows Media Player on my Windows 7 PC to play my music)

    VLC is hit or miss, poor sound quality on 3gpp files just over all ****!!!!!! And don't get me started on the apps they offer for download.....noting but ad attacks!!!  Microsoft made a HUGE mistake with the Groove.

    Hello Win7User1357,

    I apologize for my late response, as I currently do not have internet at my rural address and must go elsewhere.  I'm not sure if you got part of what I had said before, but to be clear, the Microsoft site states that though Windows Media Player is available for Windows 10, Windows Media Center is not.

    I agree with you 100% about the newer Windows OS, since 7.  I do not like the new user interface with it's focus on apps.  I prefer the programs and start menu that we are all used to.  It seems that software companies these days are always trying to innovate to the point that they take away the features we love!  Nobody wants to learn how to use Windows all over again.  As of now, I'm staying with 7.

    None of the above has worked.  One of the sites requires intermediate skill to try to update.  I am not someone with those skills, so that was useless.

    I don't understand why Microsoft makes it so hard to switch from on OS to another.  And of what use would anyone at Microsoft believe that I wanted to lose all my music because they don't want to make Media Player or an easy update available. 

    I can finally watch videos, after downloading the VLC app, but still no music.

    Someone told me a couple of days ago that this is one of the reasons they went to a MAC, because 8.1 was a pain and 10 is worse.  I'm just about there myself.

    All I wanted to do was watch a movie and listen to music.

    I so agree with you. We had to get a new computer last fall with Windows 10 and just hate it. Can't believe the new OS doesn't support their own media player. So frustrating. Did see a post about VLC and downloaded that and it works for a video but we shouldn't have to spend the time and energy searching for a solution to Windows 10 when it's a brand new OS.
