Hi everyone:

I'm Jon, a Program Manager with Microsoft who works on servicing Windows Media Center.  I want to share an update with you about the EPG issues some of you are experiencing.

Rovi is working with Microsoft directly on all Windows Media Center related issues.  Our official path of support for WMC issues is to log a feedback report within the Microsoft Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145/Feedback).  Microsoft will triage the problems there, and report any lineup or data accuracy related issues to Rovi you.  Note that you will need to login to the Connect site and link your MS account with to it for the link above to work properly.  You can also go to http://connect.microsoft.com, sign in there, and navigate to the "Media Center Program Guide Data Feedback Home" site.

There are a few problems with the data conversion that are known issues. We are working to resolve these as quickly as possible.

  1. **The issue regarding OTA channels not surfacing to the WMC guide is believed to be resolved.**Please run through your WMC setup (if necessary) and confirm if you now have the missing channels along with their corresponding guide data. If you continue to have issues please open a ticket with Microsoft in the Connect application. Microsoft will work directly with Rovi on any further issues you might be having.
  2. Series recordings problems. We believe we have identified the problem and Microsoft and Rovi are working towards the best solution. At this time we don’t have an estimate on when this will be fixed.
  3. Cable card lineups not displaying the HD channels. Microsoft and Rovi are working on a long term solution. In the meantime a work around has been implemented for customers with Cablevision/Optimum lineups and you should expect to receive the HD channels within 24-48 hours from 7/23.

We will continue to provide updates on this thread as they occur.

"Daily, we are gathering all the issues reported, collating them by issue type, and following up on them as a group."

Sure you are. There are no Connect postings since July 8, 2015 regarding Media Center Guide.

Connect does not accept feedback - the site is broken.

Microsoft eliminated the Media Center Guide. When will it be restored? Or is it discontinued?

Please provide an honest answer. Thanks.

    Hi everyone:

I want to give a quick update on where we are.

First, I want to thank you all for going to the Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145) and logging issues.

As you may have guessed, there are a lot of people reporting issues on the Connect site - so many, we're unable to respond to each of them individually.  I want to assure you all that we are working on those issues, however.  Daily, we are gathering all the issues reported, collating them by issue type, and following up on them as a group.

We look at each issue report of missing data for specific zip codes and providers to clean up the data feeds.  So far, we have resolved a large number of data quality issues, addressed the series recording issues (if not, let us know!), and are working on the cable card issues currently.

I also want to thank folks like krispy2010, and our CM Barb, for helping setup forum posts and answer user questions.  They are what makes this community work.

I created the Forum "Windows Media Center has stopped updating the Guide listings for Windows 7" and "Windows Media Center has stopped updating the Guide listings for Windows 8." If you were reading these two forums, you will find out how frustrated I was trying to resolve this issue. I agree with you, Community Moderator Barb gave us the same instructions to everyone who is having the same problem I had, but the people on Microsoft Connect does not respond back and I do not like to give out our area code to the public. In a miracle way, I do not know how my Windows Media Center Guide listings was finally fixed. As of right now, everyone is still having the same issue I had previously.

You can either respond to Barb on either Forum that I created.

So where does this stand now? We are into August and the guide switch over has been a debacle. Hundreds (if not more) have posted issues at connect.microsoft.com with zero response.
