Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

Is it at all possible to retrieve all the transactions without laboriously copying them by hand?

    Hi fitzVY,

You can export the data to Excel by clicking on the Print Portfolio button. A table of the data is displayed, select the table (CTRL+A), copy (CTRL+C) and then paste it (CTRL+V) into Excel.

    Hope this answer your question.

    Thanks,

    Adriana

Same for me so I don't know how to migrate from the old portfolio. I don't want to delete what I already have and then have nothing instead of my current mess.

    Using IE11 on Windows 8.1.

    Thanks,

    Adriana

Adriana - not sure if you had anything to do with getting the old PM back up, but thanks for any influence you may have had.  Because the old PM has been inaccessible for a week after announcing an imminent shutdown, it seems only fair to extend that deadline.  People are scrambling trying to get data out of the old PM, and it's just not a very friendly program in that regard.  Have you asked the programmers if there is a way we can export from the old PM to a data file like a CSV?

Also, please let the powers that be know that they are shutting down one of the best PM's on the internet in favor of a very mediocre and commonplace offering.  The usefulness is gone for me, and I will not be using the new My Watchlist.  I don't know what I will be using, but this whole scenario has really soured me and shaken my trust.  The old PM is a wonderful tool.  If it had been advertised better, I believe you would find you could attract a multitude of users to that platform.  The new My Watchlist looks way too much like everything else out there.

Thanks for being our sounding board.  I wish you were an MSN senior officer, so you could really get something done.

    Ron

    Hi Ron,

I'm glad the old PM page is back up and hope users will be able to import their data to the new platform or at least get a copy of what they need prior to the 22nd as it's going away for sure. You can definitely export the data by clicking on the Print Portfolio button. A table of the data is displayed, select the table (CTRL+A), copy (CTRL+C) and then paste it (CTRL+V) into Excel.

I have shared the issues and feedback to the product team for the last couple of months and they did implement several fixes on the new MyWatchlist since then and they will probably continue to do so but they are not going back to the old PM. It's going to be retired for good. Sorry.

Let me know if you have any difficulties importing or exporting the data.

    Thanks,

    Adriana

No pop-up for me, never had the pop-up to allow me to migrate my old portfolio.

IE 9, vista platform.  Pop-up blocker turned off.
