Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates.

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

    Hello Konstantin,

Thank you for your valuable input.

I hope that your suggestion may help other community members to resolve similar issues.

    I appreciate it.

    Thank you

I don't have the same issue after reinstalled the KB updates initially posted.  I have found that my wireless router can be the problem connecting with the Venue 8.  I have to different AP's and switch between the two can resolve the problem with connection.  Often times a reboot takes care of my issue.

I am back, the trick with turned off defender did not last.

I tried resetting windows clean and it did not last more than a day.

Than I tried to switch my WIFI to use only 802.11g band instead of 802.11bgn.

And now, after 3 days, I don't have a lost network issue.

    To sum up:

    • Use only 802.11g band on your wifi
