What exactly does KB2952664 do?

I just found that Microsoft has (yet again) put KB2952664 back on my Windows Update queue.

Each time they do this (I have lost count of the number of times) I just HIDE that update (KB2952664) .... and each time Microsoft eventually ignores my setting and re-inserts KB2952664 into my update queue (I have my Windows Update set to "Check for updates but let me choose to download and install them"). 

How many times do I have to tell Microsoft that I am not interested in installing patches that either nag me for some reason (i.e., to install Windows 10), or send telemetry data from my computer back to Microsoft?????

Besides KB2952664, there are a few more patches that result in "snooping", "nagging",  and/or sending telemetry data back to Microsoft. See this site for more details ...

Everyone has to make their own decision but this last revelation about pushing Windows 10 to people that didn't ask for it is the last straw for me.

What kind of company downloads an entire operating system to a users machine without their consent or knowledge?

It's just not right.

I've already deleted the Windows 10 download that was downloaded on my machine and am in the process of deleting all the telemetry related updates from lists that i've collected from various sources.

Maybe in a year and a half or so when all the bugs are out, and Microsoft comes to their senses, I'll be back. In the meantime, I'll sit back and watch the circus.

In addition to Microsoft releasing updates that collect and report information, there's the issue of Microsoft pushing (downloading) Windows 10 installation files (3GB to 6GB in size) to users who have not reserved a copy and have not expressed any interest in Windows 10.
