Nokia 1520 Microphone problems

I have found a solution to the hardware fault on my phone, my microphone was never working so clearly hardware fault. I had the same microphone issues and the LED lights below my screen wouldn't work. I found that when i twisted my phone I could get them and the microphone to work, so it seemed like a bad connection in the lower daughterboard, upon disassembly I found the fault was actually where the ribbon from that board connects to the mainboard. In the picture below marked by the red arrow, I found that applying pressure made the Led's and microphone work. My solution was to stick a small piece of 2mm thick adhesive foam onto the silver cover so it applies pressure from the back cover.

I've got the same problem.  The microphone works, but just barely.  I called my phone to hear what it was like and you can hear the person, but they are just very very quiet.  It is so quiet that it is almost impossible to make out any words.

Unless there is a validity stated on the label itself only the Care facility with which you booked the collection can provide you with an answer.

I'm not sure this is the issue. The problem at its most fundamental is that the mic for voice telephony does not work. When I attach my BT or wired headset, I can speak to people, but when I switch the phone call to voice, whether connected to BT or wired, the mic does not work.

Can you use the mic for voice telephony at any time?

• when not connected to wired or BT headset ?
• when connected to either or both wired or BT headset (turn BT and speaker off)?

hi mate, have you checked that you are indeed up to date with the latest firmware for your device, along with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? also try performing a soft reset.
