Of course! "Power: Turn Off Display". I use several of the gestures. I found the app looking for a gesture to unhide the task bar. Ended up using the windows key/t key combination with a gesture instead of the stock canned unhide because I had to chase it with the stock vs key combination leaving it up. Great app, though
Windows 8.1 tablet, turn off screen while keeping tablet on?
just got a new windows 8.1 tablet ( omni 10 if you need to know for some reason ) and i keep finding myself wanting to turn off my screen while keeping the tablet from turning off or sleeping. i usually us my tablet to download OS updates for my android phone, or other large files, but whenever i push the power button the tablet goes into "sleep" mode and stops downloading everything. the only solution i can find is to keep the screen on, but id rather not do that to keep it from killing the battery faster that it needs to. also cant find anything in the power options about screen power off timer... only sleep timer :/

2015-07-09T20:34:52+00:00 Could you be more specific and what you programmed the gesture to do? I looked at their list and "Increase/Decrease Brightness" and "Sleep, Hibernate, etc..."? Did you use either of those? Thanks,
Also, the other recently offered solution of downloaded code works but gums up the lock screen too much to be useful.

2015-07-09T20:14:56+00:00 svorenp, if you will read my earlier post, I think it will enlighten you. I have been using this app for near a year and it is perfect. Leaves the tablet in tablet mode and simply turns the screen off. Unlike the other solution mentioned, it doesn't get turned back on with mouse or screen activity, rather a tap on the Windows key, as with sleep. Also, in my post I stated that Windows 10 in fact does, natively, make this available as part of the power button settings and I posted a screenshot. Can't understand why you stated this as a hardware limitation when the only thing hardware is there for is to activate a software/firmware setting. And you posted with such authority. I am only posting from personal experience with this app. You can't have tried the app I mentioned if you're stating that it doesn't work. It works beautifully! Try it. What can it hurt? It's free for three gestures, but I would suggest paying for the unlimited version as there are so many other uses. TouchMe Gesture Studio

2015-07-09T19:36:49+00:00 Have you tried the TouchMe Gesture Studio App, yet, svorenp?
Thank you for tip, but I
m afraid that impossibility to reach to the correct behaviour of power management is not software problem. Tablets offer limited options of settings because of hardware specification. There no chance change it because this power settings depend on firmware of device and we cant change it. All attempts collapsed. I think that Microsoft doesn`t want to solve this problem and maybe we need to wait for Windows10. It is very sad and frustrating especially if we realize how many programmers works in Microsoft.So-so I will try it.

YES, you are absolutely RIGHT about Microsoft's unwillingness to LISTEN to their USERS!!! They don't care. They want to FORCE the entire Tile UI (of Win/8) down everyone's throats, regardless of the backlash and negative reviews. Their implementation of the new Power Platform Role is also OUTRAGEOUS, and totally unjustified.
However, I believe we all are now beginning to understand the POWER of HUGE Corporations (like Microsoft) on our daily lives.
