This is really disturbing. I am extremely unhappy with Microsoft right now. This problem seems to be happening with a lot of people and Microsoft isn't giving any of us answers to this problem. MICROSOFT: PLEASE FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND HELP US OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355) Update using "clearcompressionflag.exe" and "Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu" System got to 99 % then said "We couldn't complete the upgrades Windows changes. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer". Update from menu "windows update" System got to 100 % then said "We couldn't complete the upgrades Windows changes. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer". Then I checked View your update history it shows "You have not tried to install any updates for your computer" So I cannot get an error code. If I install other security updates, such as "KB2926123", I can check the "KB2926123" success status in View your update history. But if I try again KB2919355, it will clean all the items in the View your update history. Following are the commands that I have tried, but they didn't help. dism /online /remove-package /packagename:Package_for_KB2919355~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.14 The operation completed successfully. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth No component store corruption detected. The operation completed successfully. dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup The operation completed successfully. Can u give me any ideas?

I had a chat with Microsoft Level 2 support this morning. Microsoft is very aware of the KB2919355 issue and is working diligently to find the root cause(s) and deliver fixes. At this point, the only recommendation is to hide KB2919355 in Windows Update until such time as a fix is released. That's my approach for now. I can't afford to risk bricking my laptop with all sorts of attempts at getting this thing to install, I don't have any media (or a DVD drive) to do a full install from, and hopefully once Microsoft's corporate customers (or at least those foolish enough to have moved to Win8) start hitting this same problem in August, they'll be forced to do something about it.

I got error 0x80070002 copy and past from Event Viewer: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355). exact problem is i get "unable to configure windows, undoing changes" while rebooting after update KB2919355 install still no solution found and in the next months i would get no security update so i will wind up with an unprotected old OS...

Then I checked View your update history

So I cannot get an error code.

I got error 0x80070002
