This error may appear anytime a Windows Update fails. To investigate possible solutions, we need to start with the specific error code.

We can do this by viewing your update history.

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), and tap or click Settings.
  2. Tap or click Change PC settings, and then Update and recovery.
  3. Tap or click View your update history.

View failed update error code.

    I received this error code while trying to download a windows update (kb955430). I was able to download and install successfully

    the failed update code is 800F0922

    Any suggestions?

    This is very frustrating given this is a new laptop with Windows 8.1

    In the Update history the last update failed. Is the KB2938104. When it happened my pc took hours to open normaly again and for that reason I put uddate manual in the setting. Since I happened that problem did not want to authorize new updates afraid I broke the computer. Can you help me to solve this issue?

    the last of repeated failures was on 15/4/2015 and error code 802400B
