I've tried all solutions that i can get my hands on and nothing works permanently for me. Tried the flushing DNS solution, tried the permanently entering the DNS into windows solution, installed Vendor drivers rather than using the 8.1 default drivers,
dropped the reserved bandwith to 0% rather than the default usable 80%. Im on cat5 internet and speed to the outside world gets slower everyday, though it might have been the cat 5 cable or adapter, so i switched to a N600 wireless dongle and the same. I
also tried to reconfig my modem / router from scratch. Seems like the only permanent solution i have found is to switch my modem / router to a different brand. Looks like its the way that Win8.1 uses the DNS while doing online functions .....
This sux as it costed me heaps of time wasted and money from not being able to do my work.
In Australia according to the ACCC we are allowed to request a full refund and being able to claim compensation for all damages caused by a faulty product. Funny how no one seems to have done anything to Microsoft after they have time and time again offered
faulty products to the public.
