I have been using Microsoft Picture It! Premium 10 (mpi10) with Windows XP for quite some time until just recently when I bought a new computer with Windows 8.1. However, when I tried to install mpi10 on my new computer, I realized the two weren't compatible.
I really like mpi10, & I work with pictures quite often. Question is... is there a way to make it compatible, or is there another photo editing software that it compares with, that is compatible with Windows 8.1, & that I can download from your site?

Yes, as per the compatibility status on Windows Compatibility center is concerned, Microsoft Picture It is not compatible with Windows 8.1. Refer to the link to get the details:
However, in Windows 8.1 Operating System, you can use Windows Live Photo Gallery in place of Microsoft Picture It:

the picture programs seem to be getting less user friendly. In my opinion, most people editing their pictures (especially if they upload them later to the net) want a "SAVE AS" feature in the program. This way, we can put our pictures where WE want them, and not where the program decides.
Robert I did and it works fine so far. I had been using my old Dell desktop that runs XP SP3 as a photo station because I like pip-10 and I edited some pictures with it on my newer Dell desktop computer running 8.1. I am also using my old Dell 942 AIO printer by downloading Lexmark SC400 printer drivers for Vista; so far it works fine also. Neither were to be compatible with 8.1, go figure-

I downloaded the Microsoft Picture It Premium 10 disc that came with my old Dell desktop which ran xp sp3 onto my new Dell desktop running 8.1 and it works. Not sure if there will be issues down the road but I was able to edit some new pictures without resorting to using the old computer as my photo work station. My old Dell 942 AIO printer was also stated not to be compatible with 8.1 but after downloading Lexmark sc400 printer vista drivers to 8.1 it works fine also. Go figure-
Try Windows XP mode in Win8.1. Here is a link on how.
