I have been using Microsoft Picture It! Premium 10 (mpi10) with Windows XP for quite some time until just recently when I bought a new computer with Windows 8.1. However, when I tried to install mpi10 on my new computer, I realized the two weren't compatible.
I really like mpi10, & I work with pictures quite often. Question is... is there a way to make it compatible, or is there another photo editing software that it compares with, that is compatible with Windows 8.1, & that I can download from your site?

Yes, as per the compatibility status on Windows Compatibility center is concerned, Microsoft Picture It is not compatible with Windows 8.1. Refer to the link to get the details:
However, in Windows 8.1 Operating System, you can use Windows Live Photo Gallery in place of Microsoft Picture It:

I know that I have spent way too much on 'high-level' photo repair, embellishing, reconstruction, etc., and out of all those... Pictureit! was the best, and it was so easy to use, and so fun! Microsoft absolutely needs to bring it back, updated so that it will be compatible with Windows to 10.
As for the French version, I don't know which version of works you have, but if it gets a wee bit nerve wrecking, try;
copy instructions or that of which you need from the help menu, and paste into Works Word, then (with phrase highlighted) find your pull-down menu and see if you have the app, 'translate' if so, click on it and then in a little line toward the bottom click on the line, then left click and paste your word or phrase, and then either right click or hit enter. Otherwise you can keep the phrase highlighted go to your browser and type , 'translator to English'. That should do it. I hope, really I do, that works for you.

Many copies were free at Wal mart. The program superiority is it's simplicity. Nothing fancy - just good, easy to use functions that actually work - often better than expensive programs.
