Error Code 80073712 Windows update Win 8.1 x64

Ok so here are the system specs

After the last update and restart. I am unable to use Windows update.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps but the problem still exists.

SFC returns no problem at all.

Problem occurring for updates KB2936068 and KB2919355

Using their standalone installer isn't working either.

Microsoft has issued a fix for your error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2969339

After you install it, the rest of the updates should download automatically.

    Ok I have the old version. And the "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates" is already selected.

    Is there any way I can manually update this dll file?

    Jaxx,

    Which version of the Windows Update Agent do you have installed?

    To check, do the following.

    1. Open File Explorer, open the Windows folder and go to System32.
    2. Either scroll to or do a search for wuaueng.dll
    3. Right click the file and go to Properties and then click the Details tab.

    The current version is 7.9.9600.17092 as can be seen in the screenshot.

    If your version is older, go to Windows Update in Control Panel and then click the "Change settngs" link.

    Next, checkmark the option, "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates". Click OK and the WUA update will install automatically within 24 hours.

    Seriously dude.....did you not read my original post properly??

    I am unable to install these 2 updates only. Even standalone installers are not working.

    Looks like I'm going to have to wait.

    OK. A known problem that microsoft is working on. I read that before I posted this. But seeing as how Win 8.1 Update 1 has a time limit to install(May end if i'm not mistaken) how am I to be sure that the problem will be fixed before that.

    Another reason I posted this was users reporting back positively of installing the KB2919355 update. But i have a problem with installing the other update KB2936068 as well.

    There's a patch to fix the problem which you can download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/DownloadResults.aspx?q=KB2919355

    KB2936068 is an update for IE incidentally and that should install after you download the above patch.
