USB port malfunctioning, always says "USB Device not recognized"

Yeah I know I did it before because it listed every instance of that error. The Speech is a MS thing not sure what.

I added some stuff on to the last post. Double check you may have missed it because I just did it.

I would follow that article to see if the regedit they have works for yours but make sure you can reverse it since it was for XP. There maybe an article for 8 somewhere. Just haven't found it

Haha, way ahead of you. I unchecked that option yesterday when researching this issue. No effect unforunately. 

I'm not completely sure what you mean by a before and after. Do you mean before I click on show hidden devices and then after I click on it? Or before i plug it in screenshot, and then screenshot after?

Also, here is something random that I just saw, I don't have the slightest clue what this is:

You know what, I think I'm going to let you in on another problem I can't seem to fix while you are here. This program USED to work perfectly, but then I stopped using it. But now, ever since like 4 months ago, it literally won't run. It crashes every time, but it never used to. I can't figure out why. First it says there is a .dll missing, so I get the dll and put it places and etc. Then it gives me some error, something about an endpoint and in a dynamic library. i might have a screenshot, let me see....I can't seem to find it, but I found another error:

I think i'll just uninstall Daemon tools, I can do the same thing it does with winrar...sort of lol.

Actually, yesterday I changed it so windows update gets updates for all my products.

I have absolutely nothing in that folder except another folder called "Speech" with 3 XML files inside, very werid.

If you go into all of the USB devices in device manager can you go to the power management and turn off the option to allow the computer to disable the device.

Also in the device manager do you see more USB hubs if you go to View > show hidden devices?

Get a screen shot of before and after I am curious if a USB is turned off for some reasaon

Funny now I can't do it. Ill have to look around and see how I did it before.

What was the power total power available and power used in the USB hub. It might only list both if the hub is in use,

Daemon tools could cause that. I would try updating it. If you don't need it go ahead and uninstall it. You can always install it if you need it. And it could be causing the error. After you uninstall restart then update the USB Drivers.

Make sure windows update is set to get updates for all products then run an update check and install all the current ones if you don't have them and the optional ones. Of course you can ignore the programs like bing bar if you want

Check you startup programs in task manager and see if there are any programs that start that don't need too.

It looks like there is a USB failure because a driver fails to load. It says ROOT\SYSTEM\0004

Do you have anything in c:\windows\system\0004 ? Drivers are usually stored in c:\windows\system32\drivers so that is interesting but I am not an expert on that subject so that could be normal

EDITed-- HA HA! That is a Daemon tools driver. I am an idiot. Guess posting something makes me smarter for a few seconds.

Still looking around let me know the answers to those questions and I will get back to you when I figure more out.
