There are 72 processes running in my Windows 8.1 PC, are they malicious?

Dear community,

The computer is new.

Im not computer literate but logic tells me 72 processes running in th e back ground is too many?

I don't wish to start turning on/off processes in case I corrupt the machine or messing with programs to deselect ...

start up has only 3 or 4 processes running so not so bad.

Any suggestions on where i can take it in London, uk to be detoxed?

Can I get Microsoft to fix it remotely?

thank you

sarah,

CrowdInspect is only meant an an informative utility to let you know what's going on with your system.

You don't need to kill any process, but if you come across any marked with a red dot, run a good anti-malware application like the free version of Malwarebytes to check them out. Download that from here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/free/

    hello again.

just bought malware bytes premium... and now i want to load it with the product key onto my other computer as it said in its literature ...licence per 3 computers...

ive been to the malware bytes website to enquire about it but i dont understand what they are saying.

    please can you help?

    sarah :)

See this Malwarebytes help file on how to register the installation: https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/20839618-How-do-I-activate-Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-

Essentially, it's the same procedure to register additional installations.

When I bought a licence myself, they didn't send me an email. Fortunately though, I'd already copied the ID and Key from where it had appeared on their site. But the ID and Key will be in the email you should have received from them.

But you can get the ID at least by launching Malwarebytes and then clicking the link to "My Account" top right.

hello :) Not sure what is going on with bluetooth, the pc and phone recognise each other for two minutes then they switch off. Backed up the computer all night long, now the issue is cannot do the system image backup due to error message reads 'This drive cannot be used to store a system image because it is not formatted with NTFS...

    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. lol

    sarah :)

    Sarah,

You can convert it to NTFS without losing any data on it although having said that, it's always prudent to make a backup first if the files are important. Follow instructions in this article: http://lifehacker.com/5792251/how-to-convert-a-hard-drive-from-fat32-to-ntfs/all
