    We have seen this bugcheck in around 10% of our physical servers. The sequence seems to be that the second reboot, which is initiated by TrustedInstaller has the fault on the way down.

    Looking at the dump it looks like the usbehci!EHCI_RH_PortResumeComplete routine is trying to execute paged out code during the shutdown.

    However, this just causes the shutdown to finish more quickly :-) after the restart the bugcheck is logged and the dump written but no harm seems to have been done.

    Possibly not the cleanest patch install.

    By the way Ben, you really should get someone to pull this update (with some urgency) until the problems are fixed.

    For someone who doesn't know how to recover from a blue-screen like this, you are really ruining their day if this happens to them.  Think of it this way - every single one of them is more likely to buy a Mac next time round ;)

    Hi everyone

    If this takes it too much off-topic I'll start another thread, but a relevant question:

    Is there anywhere that lists dodgy updates like this one?  A quick search gave me some 'internal' corporate lists that say don't allow this update, for example, but the last thing I need is friends/family installing it.  Two hours of my life tells me this is one to make 'hidden' and just pretend it never happened...

    I would much rather people who aren't computer-savvy delay their updates and check a site that tells them if other people are having problems with them before installing.  Obviously it wouldn't work if everyone did it, but at least only people who are prepared to take the risk would find out the hard way...

    2.      This update relates to USB drivers and if your USB drivers are up-to-date, you probably don’t need it anyway.  I believe this update was rated as important, not critical.

    No, the driver updates are for the actual host devices and ports provided by windows, usbd and usbhost, usbport and usbehci in particular
