Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    Ditto your ditto; I have this exact problem, too. Makes me wish I wouldn't have installed Windows 8.1 Pro. Maybe I'll go back to 7...this is ridiculous. Of all of the **** that COULD go wrong with an operating system, it's the wifi that's the problem. Seriously?

    I agree, this is a horrible response.  I am having the exact same problem.  If I wrote software like MS does, I would never be able to get a job anywhere.  Fix the d**m problem Microsoft!

    It has something to do with the windows itself I had windows 7 my wifi was running smooth no problem and this problem started as soon as I got windows 8.1 uninstalling old wifi adapter drivers and getting latest ones from hardware provider website seem to fix it a little bit for me and for some people fix it 100% but mine right now only works while i browse the net etc. If for example I try to play games online then it starts dropping every 5 sec or 2 minutes and goes to limited and other ****... what the engineer said down there useless...

    No I'm not. Just another computer user trying to help out. You should open a new thread so you can post some info specific to your issue and so it is easier to figure out what you have tried. There are 45+ pages on this one and its hard to divide who has done what and what that status is.

    Just post a link to the new thread here for further help.

    Again: are you a Microsoft employee?

    I think we've all tried this and blaming our ISP/Router is complete nonsense. Haven't you seen how many of these posts are from people who say - as I have - that ALL other devices (iPhones, iPads, pre Windows 8.1 machines) work perfectly well.

    For the last time: IT'S NOT A ROUTER/ISP ISSUE
