Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon. When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc. I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals. My applicable system specs are as follows;
Lenovo Y510P Laptop
Windows 8.1 Pro
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware
Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1 I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

Are you a Microsoft employee? I've tried this and it doesn't work. Can SOMEONE at Microsoft take some responsibility at least for explaining what changed so fundamentally in Windows 8.1 or a subsequent update to cause this MAJOR problem? All I have seen from them is more complete NONSENSE telling us it's an ISP/Router problem.

You may want to start a new thread. Limited connection can be caused by several things. First try to update your driver by checking you have all the latest windows updates. If that doesn't help go to device manager select the wireless adapter and double click it select the drivers tab then select driver details and either click roll back to use any older driver or select a different driver from the list. Also you should notify the computer maker and wireless adapter maker to let them know you are having issues. If those don't work try a new thread as limited connection could mean you router is bad the ISP is having issues or many other things. You can connect to your router using an Ethernet cable to verify it is only wireless that is the issue

Thief updates include third party driver updates. And not every one had this issue intact most didn't which most likely mean it was the adapter makers fault. Thus issue is usually fixes by changing the driver to the Microsoft driver in device manager if you are still having issues
