You do have a system reserved partition: you just can't see it on the Disk Manager GUI tool. To see it, start 'cmd' in Admin mode & run Diskpart. See my earlier post on page 6 for details. That said, you cannot make any changes to it since it is not associated with a 'volume'. I tried using diskpart, minitool, EaseUS - to no avail.
What solved my problem was running the 'Windows Store Troubleshooter'. It showed a driver issue on my USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller. Windows could not load this driver (yes, it was the latest version) on my laptop (HP dv6t), due to a conflict. HP had posted the resolution to this on their support site. Once I had resolved this issue, the update went through without any issues.
You can see if you have any driver related issues by running the Device Manager & by scanning for hardware changes.
