Update 1 - Error 8018830F -> Update was downloaded but could not be opened

Hello Folks,

We have resolved this issue with the error 8018830F.  You can now simply go to Phone Update and check for updates to install the latest version.

Folks,

We have heard a small set of devices were receiving the error 8018830F when trying to take Update 1 this morning.  We need your help to look into this further.

Please reply to this thread and provide the following details:

  1. Make/Model of Device (Ex: Nokia Lumia 925)
  2. Country device was purchased in
  3. Mobile Operator if device is branded a specific operator (during boot up does it display a Mobile Operator logo?)
  4. The Manufacture ID for Device (Nokia Devices Only!)

Note:  To find the Manufacture ID,  go to Settings -> Extras + Info -> More Info -> It should be the first row listed.

Please keep this thread limited to devices seeing this error message.  If you have another error please search the forum or create a new question.

    Hi, I have the same issue on my Lumia 735. Please find the details below:

    1. Make/Model of Device: Nokia/Microsoft Lumia 735
    2. Country device was purchased in: It was a replacement given by Microsoft in return for my Lumia 720 that was irreparable, under warranty. The Lumia 720 was purchased in India, and the Lumia 735 given to me is the UK variant.
    3. Mobile Operator if device is branded a specific operator: Not branded with anything. I use Airtel, India. However, I see a bright green accent colour in the end of the accent selection, which is 'extra' compared to my colleague's Lumia 730 (India). Mobile Operator shows as "000-GB" under extras+info.
    4. The Manufacture ID for Device: RM-1038_1023.

    Please note, the extras+info says "Lumia Debian Red," I'm not sure why. I'm not enrolled with Developer Preview for the phone, the phone was never enrolled for the programme.

    Update: It now says Lumia Denim after the update for extras+info was installed. 

    I've hard reset the phone like four times, I have a free space of ~3.2 GB on the phone, but the update still fails.

    Go to Lumia Software Recovery Tool, connect you phone on the computer and follow the steps to get it update correctly. That was the procedure which solved the problem in my case.
