Original title: problem while updating
I am not able to login. whenever i start my pc it shows"we couldn't complete the updates Undoing anges don't turn off your computer"
I am seeing this screen since 24 hrs.

Do you remember which Windows Updates you were trying to install?

Clean Boot: After troubleshooting in a Clean Boot state, make sure to place the computer back to Normal Startup Mode following the same link.

This is the most valuable post in this thread. I hate to say this, but I do think that MS should take this issue seriously. Since 2 days ago, my windows 8.1 kept asking me to install updates and reboot. I did that but after it reboots, it says "we couldn't install the updates ... undoing changes ...blah blah," then after about 10 minutes, I can logon to windows (I think I am lucky compared those who cannot logon). But after some time (10 minutes?) windows will prompt me that it need to install updates... then reboot, then undoing changes ...
Then it goes round and round but goes nowhere!
I have the same issue. My brand new 2 day old laptop won't let me even log on. I can't go to websites and download these stupid things or use these stupid troubleshooting links cus IT WON'T LET ME LOG ON. Is there any REAL solutions? Or is my laptop now an oversized paperweight?

If you do not have a Windows 8 DVD, then you can download Windows 8 by following this article.

To create an installation media for Windows 8, follow this article.

(Also, article also applies to Windows 8).
Now, you can follow the steps from the article to fix the issue.
I do not have the product key as MS 8.1 was pre-installed on the PC. I am not about to wipe out everything and start all over. MS needs to fix this issue. I have spent over 10 hours on this so far with no success. I feel that MS should pay me my labor rate in order to fix their issue.
Please advise on an easy fix; not one described above.

Ran the " Windows Update Troubleshooter" and that did nothing.
Ran my 8.1 as "clean boot" and that did nothing.
