Error: 0x800F0922 when installing KB 2919355

This error may appear for multiple reasons. Some common causes are VPN clients and an unexpected System Reserved Partition size.

Try removing any VPN Clients and attempt the update again.

You might be able to fix this problem by using third-party software to increase the size of the System Reserved partition.

If you have tried both solutions and you still experience Error 0x800F0922 please contact Microsoft Support so that we can further investigate your issue.

    Same solution for me, removed Cisco VPN client.  Tried various solutions for hours and this was the solution for me at least.

    I have had a very similar experience with Surface 2 Pro. Problems with KB2919355 with error 0x800F0922. I don't use a VPN client, and I was not able to extend system space (now at 300Mb) or to add anything like a system reserved space even though I could unallocate space on my C: drive that is before and after the system space. Mine goes to 75% and then rolls back. The whole thing takes about an hour! I was able to identify a security update that errors out with the same error 0x800F0922, bur is a much smaller update called KB2961908 (without KB2919355). This is only 29Kb and fails in a few seconds, but with the same error. This has taken a lot of time to ferret out, and it sucks. Help!

    Steps

    1. Repair install with Win 8.1 Installation media (run the installer from within Windows)
    2. Once the repair install completes and you sign back into windows, you'll need to activate Windows by going to PC Settings - Activate (It should automatically activate w/o the need for re-entry of activation key)
    3. Run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup (this will take a while, do not cancel it or run Windows Update.
    4. Upon completion, restart
    5. Run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6. Upon completion, restart
    7. Run sfc /scannow
    8. Upon completion (without errors, unless the cbs.log details file permission access errors; if anything else, restart), run Windows Update and install the 46 updates
    9. Restart whenever Windows Update tells you to do so (You may have to restart quite a few times, depending if you get the 80070005 error [atleast I think that's the error #], which says that other installs are going on).
    10. After restart, run Windows Update again, all that should be available is the KB2919355 update package, totalling a little more than 800MB in size.
    11. Restart when Windows directs you to.
    12. Run Windows update again, make sure KB2919355 isn't still listed but in a smaller size, if it is, install (repeat until you receive no updates at this time).

    To be clear, you aren't unpatched at this time.  All security updates through June are being released both with and without versions for KB2919355.

    The only patches you are missing are ones that specifically post KB2919355 (one is fixing a hibernation issue introduced by KB2919355).

    I can't say they aren't taking this seriously.  The revised KB2919355 shows they are.  I can say they aren't taking this as seriously as everyone in this thread would like (nor I).  I can only say that I'm sorry and understand your frustration.
