Windows Experience Index reports error. How can I diagnose and fix this?

The Windows 7 Windows Experience Index reports it cannot run due to an error of the OS, driver or component.  I am new to Windows 7, having used XP for a very long time.  I can't use chkdsk while using the computer and I looked at the system, the statuses of which said OK.  Help , please!

I have now found the error which occurred on 17 May. This appears to be a non-recurring error. Have you tried since to re-run the assessment? To do it select Start, Control Panel, Performance Information and Tools, and click Re-run the assessment.

    Rantandeep -

I have not tried the suggestion in the post of June 5 because I misread it and thought your were suggesting that I just  delete the whole WEI and I didn'[t want to do that.   I will check the registry on Sunday when I have time again to sit at the computer.  I will let you know what I find/do.

    Thank you

    Gerry,

Here are the results of the chkdsk and the links to the new files and logs.  I will make the updates as you suggest though it may not be today.  Infact I will not be able to respond to a post until Sunday as I need to be out of town.

    Thank you

Java 7 Update 55 version 7.0.550 Oracle Free update available. This program is compatible with Windows 7. A free update is also available. Get the free update

I missed a point earlier. You said I had run chkdsk 10 days or so ago and did it again today. Both times I got "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."  (By the way, I just that I couldn't run it while typing my question, not that I couldn't.)

There is something wrong with your response. If you run chkdsk you would not see did not find any integrity violations! That is what you can see after running System File Checker. What happened when you ran chkdsk?

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your One Drive (formerly Sky Drive) and post a link here. You can remove the earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.
