I thought staff from microsoft monitor these forums. Why can't we get an answer that works. With the ie problem I have shut off mine c. Cant someone from microsoft please fix this. These questions have been going on since last october!
Windows 8.1 Update Error Code: 0x80240031
I am getting error code 0x80240031 during download of Windows 8.1 for 50% of Downloading. Can anybody help me fix this?

i don't think its the internet providers problem.. i changed my internet connection several times...
i tried installing windows 8.1 5 to 6 times but still same error even though the download percentage differs. Please try to help me coz i really need windows 8.1.

I doubt it. BITS is supposed to handle that. You can check if you have some downloads in progress in an Administrator: Command Prompt (aka elevated cmd window) with:
bitsadmin /list /allusers

I turned off the Real Time Protection in Windows Defender... after that it worked immediately.
