Hey Mitch,
VZ doesn't know what he's talking about...don't pay any more attention to him. I know I have given up. The very day I did the updates, it quit. Of course I tried to mess with it and nothing. Then I did a search, like I do on anything I want to learn about.
There it was in black and white. Like I said, I never knew I should have printed the stupid announcement but there you go. He probably doesn't believe there's a God either. lol
Anyway, there were TONS of posts the same date I was searching. The ONLY problem with the announcement was that it never stated which update had this stop action/ reconfiguring whatever in it. Some people kept saying just uninstall it. Well that day there
was like 20+ updates and even if you did remove it, the thing evidently did not get re-written to the old script/code, whatever. So finally, I just started subscribing to some threads and quietly watching and waiting. Then when this one got so confusing, and
the arguing, I jumped in.
The way I finally fixed my weather thing today was a combination of uninstalled gadgets platform from programs and got running the 3 .dll files that are mentioned on another site running, using the zip config file from the earlier post and the Fix-it that
I found on softpedia. Also, did the restore gadgets and finally got a working weather and still non-working currency. But it's all back now, weather is ticking along and still searching for possibilities on a couple other boards about currency.
But, like I said, this weekend I am going to crash course myself into making my own gadgets and get er done.
But arguing with him about why it quit working is just going to drive us insane. I know what was posted back then and so there's no way he can sway my confidence because I read it with my own 2 eyes, as well as many others and we discussed it then. So he
can believe anything he cannot see is not there! hahaha
Only thing to focus on is if someone wants this stuff back and running and finding the solution that works. Between yesterday and today, I got mine back and so can someone else. :-)))
And it has inspired me to take on a new quest of making some of my own gadgets that I will find useful and take pride in the fact that I made them myself. :-))))
