windows 8 stuck in restart loop 'your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you'

My laptop was working fine last night, however I left it on and unplugged and it died. This morning I am getting an endless loop of 'Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you' 

the message pops up for one second and then the VAIO logo reappears before the blue screen pops back for a second. This just goes on forever with no additional info. I can see an additional line appear on the blue screen every time just as it turns off so it is unreadable.

Help please?

more info: The percentage bar never goes past 0% It just pops up and immediately goes back to the VAIO screen.

Hi Wesley,

This issue could be due to system files corruption, I would suggest you to try performing automatic repair using Windows 8 disc from Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and check if it helps.

To perform Automatic repair on Windows 8 computer follow these steps:

a.     Insert the media such as (USB or DVD) and restart your computer.

b.     Press F12 key (typically this is F12, but it can differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive that you inserted the installation media into.

c.     Once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:

d.     Click next and select Repair your computer.

e.     You will then see a blue screen and an option to choose. Choose the option Troubleshoot and select advanced options.

f.      You may choose Automatic Repair from Advanced boot option.

Keep us updated on the status of the issue.

    Can you please tell me how to do this with a tablet that does not have a keyboard (Dell Latitued 10.1)?  After spending over 15 hours to get the wifi to stay on, we are ready to give up on the whole Windows 8/ tablet experience and stay with the Nexus 7 (and this is someone who has been devoted to Windows since Windows 1 -- and yes I have used every version). 

    Also, will this kill all the apps that are installed? (Sigh -- I think I know the answer).

    I don't know if or how you can bybass the error message. I don't know your computer manifacturer or model. Thats why i mention you might have to call the manifacturer and ask them if theres a way to bypass that error message.

    i couldnt enter windows because of the blue screen. im also getting a blue screen whenever i boot using the installation cd. any way i could bypass the error messagek?

    windows might be corrupted. You might have to reinstall windows, or if windows came pre installed in your computer, you are going to have to reset back to factory default. this means you will loose all your files but it will get your os up and running again. if you need help reseting your computer, I suggest you call the manufacturer...
