Since resolving an issue with my ATI Video Driver recently, I have started getting the following errors, once a day, which cause my system to restart unexpectedly.

I believe this to be a driver issue, even though it looks like a hardware issue.

When it happens, I am usually watching TV on it via my XBOX Media Center Extender.

Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge

Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Processor APIC ID: 0

My Computer is a Dell XPS 7100 with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor and ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series graphics adaptor.

All Dell diagnostics run cleanly and successfully.

Can anyone advise what to do to investigate further please?

    I'm also experiencing exactly the same problem since installing the Fall Creators Update.

    At least I'm not alone with this problem. Here's hoping that Microsoft acknowledge and resolve it soon.

    I have the Fall Creators Update on a one year old HP full updated laptop.  (OK, video drivers might not be updated, but with those I have found it best to adopt an 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it approach'.   Long story...)   It was just fine until the update, then started misbehaving on Nov 17th, for some mysterious reason.  I lost all administrative function and access to any start menu items.  After several hard boots, I managed to get enough access to the start menu controls to do a clean "restart" and then it apparently was fine.  Until today, where it rebooted while I was in the middle of doing some web browsing.  I already ran malware scans on the 17th.  Where can we go to tell Microsoft to fix this?

    I too am having issues with this. FOUR errors pop up within Event Viewer; the last of which is causing the crash & INSTANTANEOUS (0MS delay) REBOOT of the system. The XML info follows after each error in a pastebin link.

    Whatever you have installed on the system doesn't matter. What you have running? Doesn't matter at all. It can be a fresh, clean install; these crashes will keep happening.

    Affects ALL WINDOWS 10 copies, at ROOT level.

    System specs:

    AMD RX-460 GPU, 2GB GDDR5 Memory

    8GB Single-Channel DDR3 RAM (@799MHz)

    AMD FX-4350 quad-core @4200MHz

    NONE of these devices are anywhere near hot enough to cause this crash. This crash can happen at ANY time whatsoever, with or without the user being at their computer, regardless of what's open.

    Edit: This may require a brand new operating system release in order to fix this catastrophic error.
